This was me before meeting my husband. I dated casually + aimlessly, attracting people that weren’t aligned with the proper mindset, and spending too much time with people that weren’t good for my heart romantically.

You too are dating casually + aimlessly…when you should be dating strategically + purposefully.

Marriage isn’t promised to everyone and dating isn’t in scripture. In addition, I believe when God wants to bring you your husband, he will simply find you and you won’t have to be perfect, prim or proper to meet him. That being said, I believe that there are so many teachers on dating but few from a Christ-centered place, and when there are no options in the church, you naturally pick from what’s out there…which has proven to be ineffective to women of faith and their values as it is usually contrary to it.

You don’t need another course telling you that if you do these things you will find a husband, but you do need someone that understands:

1. Your desire for a Godly man that can lead you in love and wash you in the word.

2. Your desire to date while abstinent.

3. Your desire for intimacy and how to take that desire and make Godly sense of it.

Ultimately,

You want to feel comfortable being intentional and honest about what you desire, and you don’t. You’re not confident (because you’re not clear) and you don’t know what questions to ask to protect your investment. Showing up to a date is only 25% of the work. The other 75% takes work.

It’s not impossible, but it does take work.

In any other area of life, we are intentional and we work hard, but when it comes to dating, we have committed to settling for going with the flow. Again, I get it, but it wasn’t until I changed my mindset from my previous dating experiences and learned the right way to date that I entered into a relationship that turned into a marriage.
